The Houston Rockets had big plans this offseason.

More from Houston Rockets

They chased Carmelo Anthony and LeBron James and after it was clear they weren’t interested in signing with the Rockets, they moved on to Chris Bosh. Bosh, of course, re-signed with the Miami Heat and the Rockets settled for Washington Wizards’ free agent swingman Trevor Ariza, inking him to a four-year, $32 million deal. They also lost forward Chandler Parsons to the Dallas Mavericks after choosing not to match the three-year, $46 million offer sheet.

On Monday, the Rockets made a positive move, bringing back one of their own, inking guard Troy Daniels to a two-year deal.

During the 2014 postseason, Daniels famously came of of nowhere to hit a game-winning three-pointer in the Rockets’  game 3 overtime victory over the Portland Trail Blazers in their first round playoff series (you can re-live the play here).

Jonathan Feigen of The Houston Chronicle reported the signing and has the details.

Daniels also confirmed the news himself.

During the regular season, Daniels played a total of 75 minutes and appeared in just five games. He averaged 8.4 points and 1.0 assists per game while shooting 48.4% from the field and 48.0% from beyond the arc. In the postseason, he played in four games, averaging 7.8 points and 2.3 rebounds per game while shooting 52.9% from the field, 53.3% from three and 100.0% from the charity stripe.
