Big 12 preseason media predicted order of finish
Big 12 Media Days begins next Monday with five schools meeting the media on July 21 and the remaining five coaches giving their state of the team address from Dallas, Texas as they make their case why they are the top team in the league.

The Baylor Bears continued their ascent under head coach Art Briles last year and captured the Big 12 conference title with an 8-1 mark and an 11-2 overall record. With Bryce Petty returning at quarterback, the Bears are in position to win a second-straight Big 12 title, but the media poll suggests otherwise.
Bob Stoops and the Oklahoma Sooners are the media’s pick to win the Big 12 this year after finishing in second place last year with a 7-2 mark and an 11-2 overall record that was punctuated with a Sugar Bowl win over Alabama. Oklahoma did, however, lose 41-12 to Baylor last year.
Bill Snyder’s Kansas State Wildcats are predicted to come in third place and have one of the more underrated quarterbacks in the country in Jake Waters.
Charlie Strong’s first year at Texas doesn’t figure to be much different than the last year under Mack Brown as the Longhorns are predicted to be the fourth place team in the league.

The only team to beat Baylor in the Big 12 last year was Oklahoma State, but Mike Gundy’s team is young and inexperienced this year and are predicted to finish right in the middle of the pack at No. 5.
Kliff Kingsbury has fans in Lubbock excited about the future at Texas Tech and has a stud quarterback in Davis Webb, but the media isn’t convinced he has the roster to compete with the conference’s elite just yet and have the Red Raiders in sixth place.
Rounding out the conference rankings are TCU, West Virginia, Iowa State and Charlie Weis’ Kansas Jayhawks.
