On Friday, they landed another potential NFL lineman when 4-Star guard Brandon Kennedy gave his pledge to the Tide.
“It’s been great getting all of this SEC attention, I love it. I want to be a part of the SEC and that’s why I’m going to play my college football there,” Kennedy said via Ethan Bernal of The Montgomery Advertiser. “The atmosphere at Alabama was the biggest factor. Alabama has a great atmosphere. It’s very family-like. They’re also business-like. When it’s time to get down to business, they do that. The players always treated me well. I had a great time there.”
Alabama’s recent trend of getting lineman into the NFL really stood out.
“It’s very important to be a part of a great dynasty. I feel I’m going to be a great player there, and they’ll develop me to the best of my ability,” Kennedy said. “I feel like our class will be great. We have the No. 1 guard in Lester (Cotton). We also have Richie (Petitbon). I feel like we are going to be really good.”
The 6’2.5, 295-pounder attends Wetumpka High School in Alabama. He is ranked as the country’s 16th-best guard prospect, the eighth-best overall prospect from the state of Alabama and the 269th-best overall prospect in the class of 2015, according to 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings.
Kennedy also holds offers from the Auburn Tigers, Clemson Tigers and Tennessee Volunteers, among others.
