Samantha and Christian Ponder name daughter after Bobby Bowden

I haven’t had to name a child yet, but coming up with a name seems like a hard task. Samantha and Christian Ponder had a baby girl recently, and decided to pay homage to an important figure in their lives when naming her.

That person? Florida State Seminoles head coach Bobby Bowden.

I wonder why they went with Bowden, Bobby has been a unisex name before the spelled slightly different. Ponder played football at Florida State and obviously owes a lot of the success in his life, including being a first-round draft pick in the NFL.

Neveerhteless congratulations are in order for the new parents. Neither has tweeted or shared anything publicly about the child yet. Ponder is currently trying to make the Minnesota Vikings roster and is pegged at third on the depth chart behind Teddy Bridgewater and Matt Cassel.
