Chargers RB Ryan Mathews shows Comic Con spirit at training camp

Comic Con is currently taking place at the San Diego Convention Center, but there is also another big event taking place in the city if you are a sports fan – San Diego Chargers training camp.

Thanks to Chargers running back Ryan Mathews, who is apparently a huge nerd at heart, we can now combine the two.

Mathews decided to show off his Comic Con spirit on Thursday by channeling his inner Cam Newton and rocking some Superman cleats for practice. As an added bonus, Mathews had some Superman gloves to complete the look.

Unfortunately, no cape was included.

A photo of Mathews in his Superman gear surfaced on social media.

Mathews allegedly also made the day of a young fan by giving him the Superman gear after the practice session came to an end.
