There’s no doubt that the Pittsburgh Steelers are one of the closest teams in football. Like them or not, they seem more like a family than a lot of other teams in the NFL, and Ben Roethlisberger proved that point once again during practice on Saturday by showing his support for defensive end Brett Keisel.
As of this point, the Steelers have not yet re-signed Keisel, a longtime veteran of this Pittsburgh unit. So to show his brother that his teammates have not forgotten about him, Big Ben hit the practice field sporting Keisel’s no. 99 jersey.
Keisel was thought to have been re-signed by now, but that hasn’t happened yet. The two sides are reportedly still trying to hammer something out before the season starts, so there is still hope that he will be on the roster this season.

If for any other reason, Keisel would be great to have around to mentor the team’s recent defensive end draft pick, Stephon Tuitt.
They’re going to look to Tuitt to be the future of the defensive end spot in Pittsburgh, so it would certainly be helpful to have the presence of Keisel around.
