The MLB Trade Deadline is just right around the corner which means we’re going to hear rumored deals that have been kicked around all month either solidify into something real or fall apart thanks to being just smokescreens.

More from Boston Red Sox

When it comes to Jake Peavy rumors, there’s one team who has consistently been int he running and it seems like they’re going to finally land him in a deal.

According to a report from FOXSports.com’s Ken Rosenthal as well as Jon Morosi, the San Francisco Giants are on the verge of acquiring Jake Peavy from the Boston Red Sox in a deal that will sneak right under the deadline.

This trade comes as little surprise as the Giants have had their eye on Peavy for some time now and their need for starting pitching help led them down a road where Peavy grew into more and more of a viable option.

What the question now is what does this mean for David Price, as the Giants were scouting the Tampa Bay Rays starter rather heavily before making a move to seemingly acquire Peavy from Boston.
