List of Baseball Hall of Fame 2014 inductees
By Jack Crosby
Sunday afternoon in Cooperstown, New York, six of the greatest men to ever grace the game of baseball will take their rightful places in the Baseball Hall of Fame. This year’s class may be one of the most star-studded of all time, with three members getting in on the first ballot.
Here’s a look at the six former players that soon will be the newest members of the Baseball Hall of Fame.
- Greg Maddux
- Tom Glavine
- Bobby Cox
- Joe Torre
- Tony La Russa
- Frank Thomas
It is so fitting to a lot of people that Maddux, Glavine and Cox are going in together. Back in the 90s, these three propelled the Atlanta Braves to one of the most dominant decades in Major League Baseball history. In 1995, they won a World Series Championship together.

Joe Torre is one of the most successful managers in the history of the game. With the New York Yankees, he won four World Series championships and was the architect of one of the greatest dynasties in sports history.
Tony La Russa is quite possibly the smartest manager that has ever sat in a dugout, and he’s done it with a few teams during his illustrious career.
And finally, a lot could be said about Frank Thomas. What can definitely be said, though, is that not only was he one of the most powerful home run hitters that the game has ever seen, but he did it the right way.
