New York Jets news: Jace Amaro tweaks knee in practice, has not looked good all week
By Jack Crosby
Jace Amaro was one of the most prolific tight ends in college football last season under the Texas Tech offense. In actuality, and with all due respect to the Jimmy Graham situation, he was more of a wide receiver than he was a tight end. But so far, his time with the New York Jets has not been going all that well, and it got a tad worse on Sunday as Amaro limped off the field with a knee injury.
The Jets drafted Amaro with the no. 49 overall pick in the second round of the NFL Draft back in May after a monster season in Lubbock last year in which he grabbed 106 balls for 1,352 yards and seven touchdowns. There were many that thought he would be a first-round selection, but that ultimately didn’t end up being the case and he fell right into the lap of the Jets.

However, since his arrival with the team, the reports have been anything but promising.
Earlier this month, Rich Cimini, who covers the Jets for ESPN, noted the struggles that Amaro has been having, and even went so far as to say that he looked lost back at minicamp.
Now we’ll have to wait and see if this knee injury is anything more than just a tweak.
