The Chicago Bulls have been in the news a lot lately, as the return of Derrick Rose, the arrival of Nikola Mirotic and the constant Kevin Love trade rumors, the team has been the talk of the NBA this week and that doesn’t seem to be ending anytime soon.

More from Chicago Bulls

Pau Gasol coming to town has sort of been washed over a bit thanks to the latest news and rumors with the Bulls but his presence on the roster is something that already has analysts considering the Bulls favorites to challenge the Cavaliers in the East this upcoming season.

But unlike prior reports that led everyone to believe that Gasol would be helping the contention in a starting role, this apparently won’t be the case.

The Bulls reportedly offered Gasol a starting job and that was the clincher in the deal that brought the Spanish forward to Chicago, but that must not be the case.

Don’t get it twisted, this isn’t a report stating that the Bulls took the starting job away from Gasol, it’s just pointing out that there were no promises or guarantees made which means that the Bulls were able to ink Gasol without promising him a large role he might have gotten elsewhere.
