Marshawn Lynch has been fined $1.08M thus far during his holdout
Marshawn Lynch believes he deserves more money from the Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks after three and a half seasons of exceptional play. While the Seahawks do not doubt that Lynch is among the best running backs in the league, they have not budged one inch in giving Lynch what he wants.

So as the teams sit at a stalemate, Lynch sits at home relaxing as he holds out from his team’s training camp. Unfortunately for Lynch, holding out actually means that he is being fined big time every day he misses. How much has he been fined thus far? According to NFL on ESPN, Lynch has been fined a whopping $1.08 million while sitting out.
Lynch is known to be a man who never backs down, but the Seahawks clearly are not caving in either. At the end of the day, both sides are losing as Lynch is being fined and his team is without one of it’s top players.
How long will it take before Lynch realizes that the financial ramifications of holding out are not worth it? As you can see above, if Lynch misses a preseason game, he will be fined a $312,500. If he misses more than one, the fines can reach a ridiculous sum.
We will have to wait and see how long Lynch is willing to lose money in hopes of gaining a few extra dollars over the next several years.
