Updated 49ers Depth Chart: Marcus Lattimore still on NFI list
By Josh Hill
The San Francisco 49ers’ depth chart is looking a bit thin at running back as two of the eight thousand running backs the Niners have under contract are hurt and unable to further participate in training camp at the moment.

If you’re looking at a current depth chart though, the running back depth will look extra thin as the Niners still have redshirted running back Marcu Lattimore on the NFI list and he’s unavailable to practice.
Fox Sports insider Mike Garafolo passed along word that the most up to date depth chart for the 49ers still has the former South Carolina Gamecocks star on the NFI list.
Lattimore will more than likely be healthy for the season but it’s nice to know that the Niners are still taking their time with Lattimore’s return. A motivating factor in keeping him on the NFI list maybe the rash of injuries to running backs already in camp, as the Niners have lost both LaMichael James and Kendall Hunter in the span of four days.
Hunter will miss the remainder of the preseason and regular season with a torn ACL while James’s elbow injury is expected to keep him out a minimum of a month. Whenever Lattimore plays again, it will be the first game action he’s seen since tearing his knee to shreds during his senior season at South Carolina back in 2012.
