Florida State football recruiting: Deondre Francois not phased by commitment of Kai Locksley
By Jack Crosby
Thursday was a rather interesting day for the Florida State football program and their recruiting for 2015. That’s because they received not one, but two commitments within moments of one another from four-star quarterbacks Deondre Francois and Kai Locksley.

Now Francois was expected to announce his commitment to Florida State on Thursday, however the commitment of Locksley just seven minutes beforehand was a complete shock to everyone.
So it would be easy to believe that Francois might be a little perturbed about Locksley stealing his thunder, but as he expressed to 247 Sports, that was not the case at all.
“It didn’t bother me. I was more worried and nervous about the speech I was about to give, to be honest with you. I knew it was FSU and wanted to make my announcement,” Francois added. “Chris (Weinke) asked me if I was okay. He knew I made my mind up, he just wanted to give me time if I needed it. I was ready though.”
He also noted that he was just as shocked as everyone else about the announcement prior to his.
“I didn’t know he was going to commit,” Francois said. “I got a text message from someone like two minutes before I was going to walk in. I’m not sure who the number was, they told me (Kia) Locksley just committed. I thought maybe it was a joke to get me to commit to Auburn. Then I think I looked on twitter or something and saw it was real.”
Nonetheless, Florida State now has a rather good problem on their hands, with two of the best quarterback recruits in the 2015 class now on their side.
