Cardinals’ Bruce Arians a ‘little disappointed’ in Jonathan Cooper’s play
By Mike Dyce
The Arizona Cardinals drafted guard Jonathan Cooper with the No. 7 overall pick in 2013, but he missed all of his rookie season with a broken leg. His return to health and the line up coupled with the arrival of left tackle Jared Veldheer had the Cardinals optimistic about the upcoming season with a revamped offensive line.

But it looks like Cooper isn’t living up to the expectations of head coach Bruce Arians.
“I’m a little disappointed with where Coop is at right now,” Arians said, via the team’s official website. “I’d hope he come a little faster.”
After missing his entire rookie season, there could be a little bit of rust, and Arians admits as much. But a week or so into camp you’d hope those issues would start being resolved. The good news is there is still roughly a month till the opening week of the season.
“To get back into the speed of the game, he needs to pick it up,” Arians said, via KGME-AM’s Mike Jurecki. “We need to see that special player we drafted last year.”
