Chicago Bears Rumors: Jimmy Clausen favored to win No. 2 QB spot?

The Chicago Bears are looking for someone to fill the big shoes of Josh McCown as the backup for Jay Cutler this season after he signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this spring.

At the moment Jordan Palmer looks like he could be the leader — because he is on paper — but Jimmy Clausen is closing in on taking that role away from him as the preseason gets underway.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Clausen hasn’t had a bad day at training camp yet — or at least it hasn’t seemed that way — which bodes well for his chances of becoming the favorite to land the No. 2 quarterback role behind starter Jay Cutler.
"Clausen seemingly hasn’t had a bad day all training camp. He’s been quick with his reads (an all-important factor in coach Marc Trestman’s offense), and he’s had some impressive zip on his throws (a sign that he’s healthy).He has split snaps with Jordan Palmer with the No. 2 offense, but will that change with the Eagles on tap?"
