It’s strange that with the current climate of social media that it’s possible for the general public to know the news of major trades before the principal figures in the deal even know. Unfortunately, it appears 19-year-old Andrew Wiggins fell victim to this.

On Thursday morning multiple outlets reported that the Minnesota Timberwolves agreed to trade Kevin Love to the Cleveland Cavaliers for Andrew, Anthony Bennett and a future first-round pick.

Tim McCormick of ESPN spoke to Wiggins after the news broke (McCormick’s original tweet is no longer on his page, but multiple users got a hold of it):

One has to feel bad for Wiggins over this, especially considering the Kansas product was recently grilled in an awkward ESPN interview about the trade rumors.

While the Cavs seem to have done Wiggins wrong here, at least for his sake all the drama seems to be over. All the rumors and trade questions are over and Wiggins can get back to solely focusing on basketball.

Plus, he said in that ESPN interview he wanted to play for a team that simply wanted him and considering the Wolves gave up Kevin Love to acquire him, one would figure they qualify.
