High drama at the PGA Championship from Valhalla where Rory McIlroy finds himself chasing down tournament leaders Rickie Fowler and Phil Mickelson on the back nine.

More from Golf

Rory began the day with the lead but fell back a bit after some early struggles. But Rory righted the ship going into the back nine and on ten he unleashed the shot of the tournament so far, nailing this low running approach shot to within feet of the green to set up an eagle putt.

Of course Rory made the putt. Because when Rory has an eagle putt in the final round of a major, he doesn’t miss. His approach was the real epic shot. Making the green in two on a 590-yard par five then holing the gimme eagle putt to pull within one stroke of the leaders?

Sure Rory. Sure, why not.

Remember when Tiger used to do stuff like that?

The finish of the PGA figures to be an insane scrum with Rory, Phil and Rickie right in the middle and Henrik Stenson lurking. But will the final round end on Sunday or carry over to Monday? That was the big question after a long weather delay.

Either way, there’s going to be a crazy finish at Valhalla.
