Somehow the University of Buffalo managed to finagle a home game against the Baylor Bears. That oddity aside, you know something special would be in store for this big occasion.

On Tuesday, the Buffalo Bulls announced that they would sport matte black helmets for its game against Baylor.

Apparently black is all the rage in college football, and no more so than in the MAC. Ball State will wear all-black uniforms at some point this season, while Northern Illinois unveiled black corn-inspired uniforms for this year and Ohio has gone black before as well.

Normally the Bulls sport blue helmets with white accents, while this helmet has a silver UB decal to go with the black theme.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out on national television, especially since it is an 8p.m. ET game and will already be dark as it is.

At least we know that Baylor won’t be brining their all-black uniforms to Buffalo with them, but don’t worry that’s only one of about a million options available.

Last season the Bulls finished 8-5 on the season and went 6-2 in MAC play. It earned them a berth in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl, where it went down to San Diego State 49-24.

Baylor is coming off a Big 12 championship and a berth in the Fiesta Bowl, where it lost to UCF in a shootout.
