When LeBron James makes his return to Miami to play against his former team, the Heat, it won’t hold nearly the intrigue that followed him when he played in Cleveland against the Cavaliers for the first time. Even with that being the case, however, it will still be fascinating to see the tone when James does play in Miami for the first time.

More from Cleveland Cavaliers

If nothing else, Dan LeBatard was probably waiting with bated breath to learn the date of LeBron’s return so that he can plot his next troll job.

According to Marc Stein of ESPN, James and the Cavaliers will play at the Heat for the first time in one of the coveted Christmas Day game slots:

"Sources told ESPN.com Tuesday that the NBA’s 2014-15 schedule — which will be released in full Wednesday at 6 p.m. ET in an NBA TV special — predictably sends James back to South Beach to face Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh and the rest of the Miami Heat on the marquee date of the league’s regular-season calendar after James’ decision last month to re-sign with his home-state Cavaliers."

I am sure that the suits over at NBA TV really appreciate Stein scooping this one in advance of the TV special. Also, there are sources regarding the NBA’s regular season schedule? Does that make anybody else sad?

Christmas Day marks the unofficial start of the NBA season for a number of people. When it arrives this season, it will mark the return of LeBron James to take on his former buddies from the big three, Wade and Bosh, and the rest of the Miami Heat.
