The Chicago Bulls, Cleveland Cavaliers and New York Knicks all had very interesting summers. The Bulls heavily pursued Knicks’ free agent forward Carmelo Anthony. They earned the first visit with Anthony and many considered the Bulls the favorites to land him on several different occasions. Instead, Anthony re-signed with the Knicks and the Bulls moved on, signing Los Angeles Lakers’ big man Pau Gasol. The Cavaliers, of course, signed- LeBron James and have will complete a deal to acquire Minnesota Timberwolves’ power forward Kevin Love later this month.

The Knicks won’t have to wait long to get a look at the new-look Bull or Cavaliers.

According to Fred Kerber of The New York Post, the Knicks will open against the Bulls at home, then will travel to Cleveland to take on LeBron James and the Cavaliers in their home opener.

"The Knicks will start their season on Oct. 29, at home against the Bulls. With Derrick Rose, Joakim Noah and Pau Gasol, the Bulls came closest to prying Carmelo Anthony away from the Knicks this summer. The following night, Anthony will see fellow slimmed-down-through-carbohydrate-reduction All-Star LeBron James when the Knicks visit Cleveland in what is likely the Cavs’ home opener, sources said. The Knicks also will be part of the Global Games as they will head to London to play the Bucks under coach Jason Kidd on Nov. 12. The NBA announced in May the Rockets and Timberwolves also would be part of the Global Games, playing a regular-season game Nov. 12 in Mexico City."

The NBA will officially release the entire schedule Wednesday at 6:00 pm EST.
