Now that the Maryland Terrapins are in the Big 10, they are hoping they can reach even more recruits from all over the country. Being in ACC country, they’ve recruited a lot of players in the south and are hoping to expand into the mid-west. However, the Terrapins know where their bread and butter is – the DMV (Washington D.C., Maryland and Virginia).

On Tuesday, the Terrapins landed a commitment from 3-Star outside linebacker Isaiah Davis. The 6’1, 210-pound Davis is from Washington, D.C. and attends St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes School in Alexandria, Virginia. Being close to home was one of the main reasons Davis chose the Terrapins.

“For one, being close to home [was appealing] and having my family being there,” Davis said during a phone interview via Matt Zenitz of The Baltimore Sun. “Playing in the Big Ten, there’s a lot of competition in that conference, and having the opportunity to play with my brother on the same team [was attractive].”

Davis is excited to get to work and believes he can really help the Terrapins as they enter the Big 10.

“I feel like I can help Maryland’s program,” Davis said.

Davis is ranked as the country’s 120th-best athlete prospect, the 46th-best overall prospect in the state of Virginia and the 1,466th-best overall prospect in the class of 2015 according to 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings. Davis also holds offers from Boston College Eagles, North Carolina State Wolfpack and Virginia Tech Hokies.

Davis is the Terrapins’ 17th commitment in the class of 2015. Their class now ranks 36th nationally and eighth in the Big 10.
