We’re now just two weeks away from the college football season, and we will soon begin to find out who the pretenders and contenders are to win the inaugural College Football Playoff and walk away with the national championship. And according to the latest odds released by Bovada, the Alabama Crimson Tide are the new favorite.

While it’s not a bad pick by any means, Florida State, with returning Heisman-winning quarterback Jameis Winston, has long been considered the favorites to repeat as champions, but as with anything dealing with Las Vegas, things will change.

Some will point to the fact that the Crimson Tide have yet to name a new quarterback, as the battle between FSU transfer Jacob Coker and Blake Sims continues in camp, however the other weapons on the field more than make up for that.

The Tide have two of the best running backs in the nation in T.J. Yeldon and Derrick Henry, and the man that some consider the best wide receiver in the nation in Amari Cooper. Plus, the defensive side of the ball isn’t too shabby, neither.

This will surely change again as the season moves along, but for now, Las Vegas sees another title in the future of Nick Saban.

What do you think? Should the Tide have been given this distinction? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
