Indiana Pacers Rumors: Roy Hibbert likely to opt out in 2015
By Josh Hill
The Indiana Pacers are looking at a season where they may need to blow up their roster to make up for the Paul George injury and one player that has been discussed as possibly moving on from the team is Roy Hibbert, who has been on the bubble in terms of whether he’ll be around beyond 2015.

If he’s not going to be traded, there’s a chance that Hibbert just walks away from the Pacers in 2015, as his contract has a year left on it and an opt-out clause that can get him to free agency a year earlier.
According to Steve Kyler from Basketball Insiders, Roy Hibbert has over $15 million earmarked for him in 2015-16, but it’s likely that the big man is going to opt-out of his deal and try to get a long term deal — but the question is from who?
"Like most players with one year remaining on their deal, it’s likely Hibbert forgoes $15.51 million in exchange for more long-term money. The question is who invests in him given his production as of late?"
Hibbert going for a long term deal over the $15 million is the smart move, but the Pacer might not be the team to give him that deal.
