The Jacksonville Jaguars looked like the better team in Thursday night’s matchup with the Chicago Bears for a large portion of the night.

More from Chicago Bears

Led by strong performances from both of their top two quarterbacks, Chad Henne and rookie Blake Bortles, the Jaguars took a 19-7 lead into the fourth quarter.

The Bears were able to cut the lead to five after current third-string quarterback Jordan Palmer (who is battling Jimmy Clausen for that number two spot behind Jay Cutler) on a 10-play, 57-yard drive finished off by rookie running back Ka’Deem Carey’s one-yard touchdown run. The Bears later got the ball back with just 2:52 to play on their own 14-yard line. Palmer led another lengthy drive, this time aided by a penalty (there was a very questionable roughing the passer penalty called against Jaguars’ defensive back Mike Harris). The Bears went 86 yards on seven plays in just two minutes and two seconds. The drive was capped by a five-yard run by rookie running back Senorise Perry, which you can watch below.

The Bears missed the two-point conversion but an interception of a Stephen Morris pass by C.J. Wilson with 27 seconds to go ended any hope of a Jaguars’ comeback, giving the Bears a 20-19 victory.
