Chicago Bears Rumors: Ka’Deem Carey to be backup running back?

The Chicago Bears have a starting running back who is elite caliber in Matt Forte, but the NFL has evolved in the last few years back into a quarterback driven league, and that means that running backs are as a dime a dozen as they’ve ever been.

That seems unfair to running backs in the league today that have made their mark, but it’s looking like running back tandems are the way of the future and the Chicago Bears are getting on board with that after drafting Ka’Deem Carey this past May. Carey has looked great so far with the Bears and it’s sounding like he could be in line for the backup running back role in Chicago.

He even got a touchdown in Thursday night’s game that displayed not only the he can be a goal line horse, but that he’s capable of getting the Bears back into games when they need it the most.

It was just a preseason game, but in addition to this touchdown Carey grabbed another one and looked impressive when he was given the chance to.

That’s huge for the rookie as it gives him a chance to not only shine under the spotlight but prove that his fresh rookie legs may be what the Bears need to balance the attack of Matt Forte.
