Taking various characters and creatures from the popular Warcraft franchise, Hearthstone is a card-battling game in which players collect cards, build decks and battle A.I. or human opponents in battles aimed at draining an opposing hero’s health.

In an interview with Game Informer, Yong Woo, a producer on the game, spoke to the game’s success, and gave a bit of insight regarding the future of the series, which includes a fully-featured expansion to the game that he was unable to talk about in detail at the time of the interview.

One feature that Woo was able to talk about, and talk about it he did, was an Observer Mode coming to Hearthstone.

“One of our most requested features is a spectator or observer mode,” Woo said. “We want to make tournaments easier to stream. We want to capture that ‘over the shoulder’ feeling when you’re watching friends play.”

He added: “You’ll come online, see a friend playing, and be able to watch. It’s in active development right now, and while we don’t have an ETA just yet, it’s coming along.”

Another feature that the developers of Hearthstone want to implement in the future is a co-op mode that allows players to team up together to battle a main boss.

“Co-op is one of them,” Woo said in regards to additions to the game. “I think a double-headed dragon could be really cool.”
