The minor league Norfolk Tides will take the field Friday night in uniforms that make them look like gnomes.

Alas, they will not be wearing the gnome hats to go with the gnome jerseys.
If you’re going to bust out the gnome jerseys, don’t you almost have to do gnome hats? There’s probably a rule against gnome hats. It’s baseball hats or no hats. Otherwise teams would go nuts with hats.
There’d be guys out there in Darth Vader helmets and crap.
It would be anarchy.
I used to let myself be bothered by these ugly-ass themed jerseys, but I’m over it now. It no longer bothers me when teams break out these duds. I’ve resigned myself to the reality of ugly jerseys.
Ugly minor league jerseys are just one more thing you have to put up with in the modern world. Like idiots on cell phones ruining movies. And skinny jeans. And Taylor Swift. They’re not going away. Well, skinny jeans are, but the other things…not leaving us any time soon.
