Upon arrival at the emergency room, he was pronounced dead.
The 49ers issued a statement after learning of the death in the stands.
“The 49ers organization is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of one of our fans earlier today,” the team said in the statement. “We would like to extend our heartfelt condolences and prayers to his family and friends in this time of sadness.”
What should be a happy moment for any sports fan turned tragic at Levi’s Stadium, and it is always unfortunate to hear when a fan passes away at a game.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of the fan who lost his life on Sunday night.
