The Boston Celtics will eventually trade Rajon Rondo, at least it seems that way, and teams around the NBA have been looking at if he fits their roster or not.

One reason that Rondo hasn’t been dealt yet has to do with how hard of a player he is to work with, as there are plenty examples of Rondo being hard to work with as a teammate in the past. It’s not that he’s outwardly difficult, but he’s no doubt a tough act to gel with.

According to Steve Kyler from Basketball Insiders, Rajon Rondo is a great point guard but he might be too hard to work with if you’re starting a team — or in other words trying to trade for him and build around him.

"Rondo has come around in the last 16-18 months, but he’s too tough to work with. I want a guard others want to play with and Conley is far and away the best guy in that regards on your list."

The answer was in response to a reader question which asked if Rondo, Goran Dragic, Mike Conley, Jeff Teague or Kemba Walker were solid guards to build around.

Rondo is no doubt a star, but if a team is trading for him to build around him then being hard to work with is a red flag. It’s not an end all, be all for Rondo but it’s probably not helping things.
