Origin, EA’s online persona program, is another service currently being run by the company. Right now on PC, you can play Titanfall for free through Origin.
With the “Game Time” program on Origin for PC users, Electronic Arts gives gamers a chance at the try before you buy model. With Titanfall, gamers are allowed a free download of the game, as well as a 48 hour test run before having to make any sort of purchase decision. The clock kicks in after the first time you boot the game up.
Two other games currently offered through the “Game Time” program are Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare and Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. They are available for 72 and 48 hours respectively.
“Game Time” follows a similar strategy in comparison to EA Access. Both gamers and Electronic Arts are set to benefit from the program allowing gamers a chance to make sure their purchase is warranted, and then when it is, making EA money. The trial being long enough to actually get a good feel for the game is a nice touch as well.
EA came under some pretty significant fire when they decided to only let gamers play Madden 15 for a mere six hours on EA Access prior to having the game shut off. While the trial is nice, for that time period, it becomes little more than a glorified demo.
If you haven’t played Titanfall yet on PC, here is a great way to give it a shot.
