Understandably there was significant concern about St.Louis Rams quarterback Sam Bradford when he went down and had to be carted off in the first quarter of the team’s third preseason game versus the Cleveland Browns.

More from Los Angeles Rams

Not only is it always scary when a key player gets carted off, but Bradford has been injury prone throughout his career. The Rams’ No. 1 pick from the 2010 NFL Draft saw his 2013 season cut short because of a torn ACL and there was fear Bradford suffered another ACL injury Satuday.

However, ESPN’s Adam Schefter has some news to soothe all Rams fans.

As Schefter notes, further testing is coming, so the Rams aren’t completely in the clear just yet. Still, the team has to be encouraged based on the initial results.

Bradford will not return to Saturday’s game, the Rams announced.

Bradford threw for 1,687 yards and 14 touchdowns last season before his ACL injury.
