Seattle Seahawks fan gets glass eye with team logo for the iris
By Mike Marteny
The Seattle Seahawks surprised about 95 percent of NFL fans by beating the Denver Broncos in the Super Bowl in Feburary. Since then, Seahawks fans aren’t so shy about showing there love. There have been some lean years for the Seahawks. Lean enough to make the fan base go into hiding outside of the Seattle-Portland area.

Seattle fan Bill VandenBush took it a step further. VandenBush, a Vietnam veteran who lost his vocal cords and right eye in combat, got a glass eye with the Seattle Seahawks logo in place of the iris. It was a tenth anniversary gift from his wife.
VandenBush told KIRO-TV in Seattle that he has a traditional looking glass eye that he wears most of the time in public. He wears the Seahawks prosthetic for all games, and to “any gathering with Seahawks fans present.” What that likely means is that he wears the Seahawks eye more often.
Say what you will about Seattle, but they love the Seahawks. Even when they are not playing well. It is not uncommon to see a house painted in Seahawks colors. I’ve even seen a couple that have the Seahawks logo going all the way around the house!
