If Lache Seastrunk was going to have an impact on the Washington Redskins this season, he’d have to do it with his speed. He knows it.

More from NFL

“Speed kills,” said the rookie sixth-round pick, via ESPN.com. “There’s so many different ways you can cut an apple, I guess. They can put you out wide, burn a corner. They can move you around a lot and make you a dual threat.”

He sure cut the apple on this play, taking an screen pass outside the numbers and heading for the house. Seastrunk turned the corner and seemed as if he went untouched. The former Baylor Bears running back showed everyone what he meant when he said speed kills. It cost the Tampa Bay Buccaneers six points on Thursday night.

While a sixth-round pick might have a hard time getting a roster spot, he appears a sure-fire candidate for a practice squad spot. He’ll be hard pressed to find a spot on the active roster as the Redskins third string running back.
