The Arkansas Razorbacks got the top recruit in the state to stay home as K.J. Hill (North Little Rock, Ark. North Little Rock) committed to the Hogs and Bret Bielema on Friday.

More from College Football

Hill is the nation’s No. 187 player overall regardless of position and the No. 22 receiver, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He chose the Hogs over offers from Alabama, Florida, Notre Dame and Ohio State in part because he wanted to stay close to home and because he’s a believer in Bielema.

"“Staying home and be Arkansas was a big part of my decision,” Hill said via 247Sports. “Coach Bielema is going to change the program around.”"

Keeping the 6-foot, 190-pound receiver in-state is a significant coup for Bielema as he looks to rebuild the program. Keeping the state’s top recruits is imperative to get back to the level he and the fan base is accustomed too.

Hill is coming off a junior season that saw him catch 63 passes for 1,143 yards and 16 touchdowns. He also added 121 yards and two touchdowns on the ground and ran back one punt and one kick for a score.

With Friday’s commitment from Hill, Arkansas now owns the nation’s No. 25 overall class and the No. 9 class in the SEC, according to the 247Sports team rankings. Hill is the second-highest recruit on the board for Bielema and the second receiver in this class.

While Hill is committed to the Hogs, he did say he will be taking official visits to see the Buckeyes, Fighting Irish, Gators and Crimson Tide this fall.
