The Auburn Tigers are enjoying some great recruiting success under head coach Gus Malzahn, and especially since they made their magical run toward the BCS National Championship Game last season. However, one of their most heralded 2016 commits, 5-star wide receiver Nate Craig suffered a bit of a setback on Friday night.

More from College

Craig was taking the field for Tampa Catholic when he was injured in the contest vs. Madison County when he was injured, according to a report from 247 Sports.

There is no major update on the injury at this time, but as more information becomes available, we will keep you updated right here on the FanSided college football section.

Craig is the no. 1 overall receiver in the 247 Sports composite rankings, as well as the no. 7 overall prospect in the class of 2016. His combination of speed and versatility will no doubt one day make in impact in Malzahn’s high-powered offensive attack.

He pledged his allegiance to Malzahn and the Tigers program back in July, already setting them up for yet another good showing on the recruiting trail. But now we will have to await word on just how serious the injury was on Friday night.

The Tigers will open up their season on Saturday in an SEC match up against Auburn.
