The San Diego Chargers are continuing to slash their roster size down to 53 players, which means some notable casualties are going to be in the mix these next 48 hours.

More from Los Angeles Chargers

One of those players to be given his walking papers this weekend is wide receiver Vincent Brown, who never recovered from an injury he suffered and is of no use to the Chargers while hurt.

According to Chargers beat writer Michael Gehlken, Brown will play in the NFL this year, it just won’t be for the Chargers.

The loss of Brown may not affect the Chargers too much as they’re starting to move in a new direction with their offense and other weapons have begun to spring up to replace Brown’s production.

Still, he’s been a big target for Philip Rivers in the past which means that not having him around will put an emphasis on the younger receivers to step up and make a name for themselves in 2014.
