Arkansas assistant coaches got stuck in an elevator at halftime of Auburn game
By Dan Zinski
SEC also-rans Arkansas were somewhat miraculously in the game at halftime against Auburn Saturday, but it all fell apart in the second half for Bret Bielema’s plucky squad as Auburn scored 24 unanswered points to pull away for an easy 45-21 victory.

It may have been inevitable that Auburn would solve Arkansas in the second half and send the Razorbacks reeling to another conference defeat, but it certainly didn’t help matters that Arkansas’ assistant coaches were missing from the locker room at halftime because they were too busy being stuck in an elevator.
What?
Generally speaking, coaches like to be in the locker room at halftime to make adjustments and, you know, coach the players. It’s a big part of what they do as coaches. Besides sit in the booth munching pastries and checking the monitors to see if they’re on TV.
The harrowing elevator episode may have unnerved the Arkansas staff, preventing them from thinking clearly in the second half. Or, another possible explanation for the brutal second-half Razorbacks collapse: they stink and Bret Bielema is a straight-up clown.
Maybe the Arkansas AD will get an idea from this incident. Don’t be surprised if, in the next game, it’s Bielema who gets stuck somewhere on his way to the locker room at halftime. A closet maybe. Or a windowless van headed for Belize.
