The FIBA World Cup is underway in Spain and one of the teams trying to stay afloat in a rough Group A is France, who have split their first two games of group play and are looking to get back into action with a win over Egypt on Monday afternoon.

But while France is currently sitting with three points and in fourth place in Group A, Egypt is looking to get one up on France and take over their spot in the running for a bracket berth. Egypt has lost both of its games so far in group play but a win against France would mean that the team would move into fourth place in the group and edge France — at least for the moment — on a berth in the final tournament bracket.

They wouldn’t be clinching a berth but Egypt moving into bracket contention is something that will be lighting a fire under the team on Monday afternoon.
