Tennessee Volunteers reveal ‘Smoked Gray’ uniforms to be worn vs. Florida (Photo)

The Tennessee Volunteers football program is on the rise under second-year head coach Butch Jones and the program is changing for the positive more and more with each passing week. But one change that might not be positive for this program is the uniforms that they plan to wear when they take on the Florida Gators later this season.

There were rumblings the past few days, but it was confirmed on Wednesday that the team would be donning a new “Smoked Gray” uniform that they will wear when they hit the field to take on the rival Gators.

There is a lot going on here, that it’s hard to figure out where to start. Needless to say, though, the uniforms have not drawn the best reviews from folks, but there could be a reasoning for all of this. This is the last year that Tennessee is affiliated with Adidas, so there are some that like the conspiracy theory that this is all just some cruel joke before the Vols head off to wear their new Nike apparel. Whatever the case may be, history has shown that they might just want to pack away anything with gray in it…
