The Phoenix Suns have caught some flak for their handling of the Eric Bledsoe contract situation but they can’t be fully blamed for not wanting to pa a ransom they have no intentions of paying.

Bledsoe wants the max and he’s not going to get it — plain and simple. But what could still happen is a team signing and trading for the guard before the season starts.

According to Steve Kyler from Basketball Insiders, a trade with Bledsoe isn’t totally out of the question at this point in time.

"Trades involving Bledsoe are not out of the question, it would ultimately come down to what Phoenix gets in return. The other part is there are not many teams out there that view Bledsoe as favorably as Phoenix does, especially not enough to offer more than four-years and $48 million."

What Bledsoe wants and what teams will give him are two wildly different numbers as he’s not worth a max contract no matter how hard he wishes for one. He may get one if he plays out this season, but as it stands now Bledsoe isn’t a max player and isn’t someone teams are willing to invest in either.
