One of the bright spots for the Orlando Magic has been the play of forward Tobias Harris. With Arron Afflalo now in Denver, Harris is the Magic’s best returning scorer and could see another boost in his numbers.

In the offseason, Harris’ cousin, Channing Frye, joined the Magic, which is another reason Harris wants to get an extension done.

“Obviously, I want to be here,” Harris said via Josh Robbins of The Orlando Sentinel. “But I think I’ll just go out there and play basketball. I’ll let my agent handle all that. I know they’ve been having some talks, but I don’t really get too involved in it. I don’t want to use that as something to lose my focus. I’m about my team and about winning games this year and helping my team win games.”

Center Nikola Vučević is in the same boat and would reportedly would also like to get a deal done. The Magic have until October 31 to work out deals or both players will enter restricted free agency in 2015.

Harris put up 14.6 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game while shooting 46.4% from the field, 25.4% from beyond the arc and 80.7% from the charity stripe. In his career, he’s averaged 10.8 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game while shooting 46.1% from the floor, 28.0% from three and 79.1% from the free throw line. Vučević,averaged 14.2 points, 11.0 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.8 blocks per game while shooting 50.7% from the field and 76.6% from the free throw line last season. In his three-year career, he’s put up 11.4 points, 9.7 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 0.9 blocks and 0.8 steals per game while shooting 50.4% from the floor, 27.3% from downtown and 70.4% from the charity stripe.
