The Indiana Pacers have quite a few question marks heading into the 2014-15 season after losing both Lance Stephenson and Paul George this past offseason. There have been quite a few different starting lineups that fans and analysts have tried to predict, but the Pacers opened camp with a starting lineup that hasn’t been mentioned too terribly much. According to a report from Scott Agness of Vigilant Sports, the Pacers opened camp with Roy Hibbert, David West, Solomon Hill, Rodney Stuckey, and George Hill as their starting five.

That lineup would be very intriguing to watch, but it would likely be a very cohesive unit. Stucky and Hill in the back-court would make a lot of sense, and the second-year small forward Solomon Hill would be a smart move as well. West and Hibbert in the front-court is obviously going to be the starting duo, and they will be asked to produce much more than they have the last couple of years.

Stuckey and Solomon Hill are the two surprises in the starting lineup, but they aren’t true “surprises” at this point in time. Hill didn’t play too much with the Pacers last season, but ended up averaging 1.7 points and 1.5 rebounds per game in just 8.1 minutes per game. The Pacers signed Stuckey to help replace Stephenson, and he averaged 13.9 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game with the Detroit Pistons.

Needless to say, this is going to be a very intriguing season to keep an eye on the Pacers. They are going to have a lot of different lineups in the game at different times, and they will be depending on a lot of players to step up who haven’t had to step up in the past. Indiana isn’t likely to compete for a championship, but they will be in the running for a late playoff seed in the Eastern Conference.
