Russell Wilson now employed by Derek Jeter?

Derek Jeter has now ended one of the greatest shortstop careers that Major League Baseball has ever seen. That career ended with some heroics in the Bronx during his last game at shortstop, but unfortunately the Yankees missed the playoffs and Jeter rode off into the sunset. Now he is teaming up with another star in the making.

As do most good athletes, Jeter has his own website. Whether used for brand marketing or announcements, a player website also helps to shape who they are as a person. Now Derek Jeter is making known that he and Russell Wilson have teamed up in a somewhat unique way.

Yes you read that right, the Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, who is also well documented as being very intelligent, is now a senior editor for Derek Jeter’s website.

Obviously Schefty doesn’t shed too much light as to what all of Wilson’s responsibilities include, but given downtime during the week, it is a good bet that Wilson definitely has input on what content looks like when it hits the site.

If you’ve followed Wilson on Twitter at all, you know he knows a thing or two about building his brand, so the new venture seems right up his alley. Adding to his resume, Wilson is now a Quarterback, professional baseball player, and a senior editor for Derek Jeter, color me impressed.
