Dallas Cowboys’ running back DeMarco Murray went over 100 yards for the sixth consecutive game against the Seattle Seahawks, tying Jim Brown’s record

More from Dallas Cowboys

On Sunday Dallas Cowboys’ running back DeMarco Murray went over 100 yards in the Cowboys’ showdown with the Seattle Seahawks.

DeMarco Murray has now rushed for over 100 yards in each of the Cowboys’ first six games. That ties a record held by the great Jim Brown. Jim Brown set the mark for the Cleveland Browns in 1958. Before entering Sunday’s game, DeMarco Murray was tied for second with O.J. Simpson The Juice rushed over 100 yards in his first five games in both the 1973 season and the 1975 season.

Perhaps most impressively is that DeMarco Murray tied the record against arguably the NFL’s top defense – the Seahawks entered the game as the top rush defense in the league.

Entering the game, DeMarco Murray had rushed for 670 yards and five touchdowns on 130 carries while catching 15 passes for 124 yards.

Below you can see the play that not only put DeMarco Murray over 100 yards for the sixth straight game but also gave the Cowboys a 27-23 lead over the Seattle Seahawks.

The Cowboys selected DeMarco Murray out of Oklahoma with the 71st-overall pick in the third round of the 2011 NFL Draft. In his four-year NFL career, he’s rushed for 3,351 yards and 20 touchdowns on 672 attempts and has 129 receptions for 908 yards and one touchdown.

DeMarco Murray is also in line to become a free agent this offseason and should become a very rich man in a few months.
