Golden State Warriors’ Andre Igoudala isn’t sure about how he feels about coming off the bench

Since the arrival of Steve Kerr in Oakland, there has been a lot of talk about who will start at small forward for the Golden State Warriors. While Andre Igoudala was the starter last season under former head coach Mark Jackson, Kerr has heavily contemplated the idea of inserting Harrison Barnes into the slot.

And how does the veteran in Igoudala feel about possibly coming off the bench as a permanent reserve for the first time in his career? Well, he really doesn’t know.

From the SF Gate:

"Do you care if you start?: “Do I care? I don’t know. That’s a good question. I’m just playing ball. You try not to make a big deal out of it. I’ve been in the league for a really long time, and there a lot of stories about anything and little things. If my shoes are tied the wrong way, that can become a story. I’m trying not to make it a story this year, and I’m trying to win a championship.”"

Coming off the bench would be a huge change for Igoudala who has started in all 758 games played over the course of his 10-year career.

But if Steve Kerr sees Igoudala’s ability to bring balance to the second unit and sees putting Barnes in the second unit as a way to make the game come easier to him, the move may be made come opening night.

Considering Igoudala is a far superior player to Barnes, Kerr’s decision to potentially swap the two won’t be received well from the public.

We’ll see what decision Kerr makes as we grow closer to the 2014-15 season.
