Saturday night was probably the worst night in a while for the Florida Gators football program, AD Jeremy Foley and head coach Will Muschamp. The team was dismantled by a not-so-great Missouri team and the fans chanted in unison for the school to fire the head coach in the third quarter.
Yeah, about that whole firing thing: It’s not going to happen. Well, at least not before the team plays the Georgia Bulldogs in two weeks.
At this point, this is rather shocking, to be honest. Things were supposed to change this season with the addition of new offensive coordinator Kurt Roper. Jeff Driskel was supposed to get better overnight. The defense would be their usual effective selves and the Gators would be back to competing in the SEC East.
Well, none of that has happened, as this season has really been worse than last year. At least during the abysmal 4-8 campaign last year they had the injury excuse to fall back on. This season, there really is no excuse, there’s only facts. And the fact is that Muschamp is not the man for the program in Gainesville. Everyone has seemingly come to that conclusion, even Foley, despite what he says in the media.
I mean, does this look like a man that is confident and happy with his head coach:
As crazy as it is to know that Muschamp will not be given his walking papers this week, you would have to imagine that an embarrassing loss to Georgia in two weeks will be the final nail in the coffin.
