Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos blew out the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday Night in a historic game that saw another record fall.

The Denver Broncos are continuing to flex their muscle in the AFC with another dominant win over a supposed NFC powerhouse. Peyton Manning nearly pulled out a win against the Seattle Seahawks a few weeks ago and he managed to get the better of the the San Francisco 49ers in the most aggressive of fashions.

But the night wasn’t about the Broncos blowing out the 49ers, it was about how they blew them out. Denver scored 42 points and Peyton Manning tied, then passed Brett Favre on the all-time touchdown list.

Manning threw his 509th touchdown of his career in the second quarter of the Sunday night contest against the 49ers.

Manning went on to throw a 510th touchdown in a career that will see him shatter the mark that was set by Farve back in the late 2000s.

What makes Manning’s passing of Favre even more impressive is that not only is he showing no signs of slowing, but he’s doing all of this after missing an entire year of his career. That will forever be both an asterisk and an aide to his legend, as his lost year will remain a massive ‘what-if’ in sports history.

We have no idea what missed history that year contained and what sort of numbers h would be putting up now had he not lost that entire year. But regardless, Manning got the touchdown record he was seeking and did so in a characteristic way — blowing out his opponent and looking like the best player on the field.
