A blockbuster trade in the NFL took place on Friday night as Percy Harvin was sent from Seattle to the New York Jets, he’s now more than ready to get on the field.

The New York Jets acquired Percy Harvin from the Seattle Seahawks on Friday for what amounts to a bag of balls. They gave up a conditional sixth round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft due to Seattle being done with waiting on a player to turn around his attitude and mesh with the team. He’s clearly excited to have moved on as well.

Despite the fact that Harvin has already said he’s thrilled to have a new opportunity in New York, the saga started today. It is plenty obvious that the newest Jets wide receiver feels pretty rejuvenated in his new home.

A quick look through his twitter feed will show off a plethora of tweets showing off his new team, however this afternoon, following his first practice with his new team, Harvin posted on Instagram that he was simply, “Ready”

With the image, fans are treated to a smiling Harvin leaving the practice field. Donning the number 16, Harvin gets a fresh start on a team that is more than excited to have him.

Despite pushing the Patriots to the brink on Thursday, the Jets fell to 1-6 on the season. Geno Smith has struggled significantly and a receiver like Percy could give him an immediate lift. With Eric Decker being more of a possession receiver, Harvin runs low risk routes that should allow Smith to follow a similar mold that Christian Ponder found himself in when Harvin excelled for the Vikings.

Obviously the baggage that has followed Percy Harvin throughout his career has cost him dearly, but Seattle failed to show any ability to use the talented wide receiver this season. Over six games, Harvin was only able to record 22 receptions. Look for Rex Ryan to showcase Harvin on an offense that could very badly use an athlete with his ability.

Harvin will likely make his debut on Sunday as the Buffalo Bills head to take on the Jets.
