Did a Tennessee assistant coach intentionally try to trip a player from Ole Miss during the Vols game on Saturday?

The Ole Miss Rebels remained undefeated on the season as they are one of the three remaining teams from the Power 5 conferences without a loss as the college football schedule heads to Week 9, but was there an ugly incident on the sideline during their win against the Tennessee Volunteers?

It is hard to determine the intent in this video shown below courtesy of Saturday Down South, but it is definitely not a good look for the assistant who sticks his leg out as Ole Miss cornerback Senquez Golson is trying to gather himself and leave the sideline after picking off his second pass from Tennessee quarterback Justin Worley.

See for yourself as the video slows down the assistant extending his leg with what we can only assume was an attempt to trip Golson who had two interceptions in a span of four possessions as the Rebels knocked off the Vols and held them to zero rushing yards on the night.

Intentional? Who knows, and I’ll let you judge for yourself but I’m sure there are more than a few Rebel fans who think it was and if it was — we’re likely to never know — that’s certainly a rather lowdown move that has no place in the game.

Let’s just chalk it up to a very frustrating night all around for Tennessee who had their hands full with the nation’s best defense.
