Brett Favre Halts Honor Until Starr Improves
By Scott Allen
The former Green Bay Packers quarterback isn’t interested in receiving honors from the team until Bart Starr is able to join him
Aside from it being a huge NFC North battle against the Chicago Bears, the November 9th NFL Sunday Night Football was going to be a special one to honor former team quarterbacks Brett Favre and Bart Starr. With Starr currently battling health problems, Favre does not want the show to go on without him.

Starr suffered two strokes back in September and then a mild heart attack. He has also suffered from seizures after those events but according to family, is now getting those under control due to medication.
He and Favre were going to be a part of festivities on the field prior to the Sunday night game on NBC. No official word had been given as to what those festivities would be but it is rumored to be honorary captains and doing the pre-game coin toss.
Favre though does not want to have any part of the event without Starr, indicating this was his decision alone. He wants Starr to be able to join him on the field. It could be his way of trying to keep from having to steal the entire spotlight for himself. It is a commendable move for the former Packers, New York Jets, and Minnesota Vikings gunslinger. Favre was asked if the Packers were willing to proceed without Starr and he said they could but it was his idea and since Starr can’t do it, he won’t either.
